PALAZZO ROUGIER

Built in the eighteenth century, it belonged, until the second half of the twentieth century, to the family of the Napoleonic officer Achille Rougier, whom it is named after.

Today it represents one of the greatest examples of transitional architecture from Baroque to early Milanese neoclassicism. It is an exclusive residence, steeped in history and charm and the subject of detailed restoration work, fully respecting the directives imposed by the General Management of Antiquities and Fine Arts.

Its aristocratic charm is revived even in the hall dedicated to the personal concierge service, a place designed to welcome owners and satisfy all needs and requirements.

Each element contributes in providing an aura of charm, including the presence of a pleasant internal courtyard with plants, a verdant cornice lit by suggestive evening lights.

The project

The project

This conservation project, performed with a high level of accuracy, was aimed at recovering all the original parts and give value to an amazing architectural past..

Atmosphere and design are blended to guarantee high levels of comfort and create a sophisticated quality balance, showing aesthetic value perfectly combined with usability of space.

New perceptive relations of the interiors are joined together in a common theme: the timeless elegance of the original period details and precious trimmings that adorn both the common areas and the housing units.

Lacunar ceilings and frescoes are a backdrop to a contemporary project where the proposed solutions have the aim of satisfying a wide range of client demands.

Its aristocratic charm is revived even in the hall dedicated to the personal concierge service, a place designed to welcome owners and satisfy all needs and requirements.

After going through the wooden door of the first courtyard, two common staircases lead to the twenty residential units.

Here history has witnessed an important passage of time: the classical form of the original staircase on the right, made of granite and wrought iron, is coupled with the modern form of the staircase on the left, designed by the Studio Caccia Dominioni and built at the end of the nineties of the last century.

The two styles talk to each other fluently, giving the idea of aesthetic grace unchanged over time.
